How RxNow Prices Work: Two Cards, Clear Choices

You deserve to know what a prescription price includes and which card to use. Here is how to compare RxNow estimates and avoid common surprises at the pharmacy.

What the search compares

RxNow requests discounted cash-price estimates through its two pricing connections, BIN 019330 and BIN 610272. When both return a price for a matched pharmacy, the search displays the lower returned price with the corresponding card. If only one network returns a price, that result may still appear. A result does not mean both networks responded.

Why prices can differ

Prices depend on the medication, form, strength, quantity, product code, pharmacy location and pricing network. Manufacturer or package differences can matter. A chain name alone does not guarantee identical prices at every branch. Prices can also change between the time you search and the time you fill.

What the estimate does not promise

The search does not check pharmacy inventory or guarantee that a medication is in stock. It does not compare every discount program or guarantee the lowest price in the market. Your pharmacy confirms the payable amount when it processes the exact prescription. RxNow does not sell or ship medication.

Keep the processing information together

Choose the card attached to the pharmacy price you selected. Give the pharmacy the BIN, PCN, Group and Member ID from that card as one complete set. Do not combine the BIN from one option with the PCN or Group from the other.

If the pharmacy price is different

Ask the pharmacy to verify the medication form, strength, quantity, manufacturer or product code, days supply and all card fields. Confirm that the result was for that exact branch. If the difference remains, the pharmacy can contact the customer service number on the matching card. You can choose another available option before paying.

Compare with your insurance price

RxNow is not insurance. Ask your pharmacy to compare the discount price with your insurance copay or its other available price. A discount card and insurance cannot be combined for the same prescription purchase. Ask your health plan whether a purchase outside insurance can count toward a deductible.

No patient account needed

Searching prices and downloading a card do not require your name, date of birth, diagnosis or patient enrollment. The search uses medication details and a ZIP code to return estimates. The pharmacy still needs the information normally required to dispense a prescription. Our website measurement counts broad activity without storing medication searches or ZIP codes in those counters. Hosting and security logs are handled separately.
